While Shore House is a twenty-first-century addition to Hotel del Coronado, one could say it was more than a century in the making. Set along the Coronado beachfront, steps away from the famed red turret, this rare and magical place has risen from roots fortified over generations by legacy and lore. Shore House is part of a $400 million re-imagination to preserve Hotel del Coronado’s legacy while transforming it for a whole new generation to experience.
I wanted Shore House’s visual identity to bridge the gap between Hotel Del Coronado’s rich history & today’s clean, modern, coastal California aesthetic. I designed a custom font for the logo. There is is a subtle ligature on the R that pays homage to Victorian era typography.
